Before Diego took over Badger Lodge, it used to be a cattle farm. The farm was mostly in ruin. Fences collapsing, weeds and grass taking over everything and the buildings looked like they were going to fall down at any second. Diego wondered why anybody was living here. He heard it was a working cattle farm but he couldn't see that. There wasn't a cow insight or any place to put it that it wouldn't just run away but it was the only place in his budget. He kept telling himself if he wanted a stable he was going to have to buy anything that came his way and work for what he wanted.
He walked through the gate and up the driveway. He was scared to knock on the the door in case it fell down. He knocked anyway and a old man opened the door. Diego introduced himself and told the man why he was there. The man was interested and asked him inside. The sat down in a run down old living room. The old man introduced Diego to his wife and they got talking. After a couple of hours the plan was sorted out. Diego was gong to buy the run down cattle farm and the old couple were going to there retirement house by the sea.
After a couple of months... Diego had the property looking back in order. He fixed fences, cut the grass and killed all the weeds around the buildings. He drew up a plan of the buildings he wanted to build and then set off finding a contractor to help him.
A year later.....
Badger Lodge looked so different. It had stables, arenas, paddocks and a new house that was a little bigger than the old one. Diego renamed it Badger Lodge Stables and made the place into an eventing stables. He built guest and staff quarters for his new staff. Now it was time to fill the empty stables with some good eventing stock.
